Darlene Christopher is a Knowledge and Learning Officer at the World Bank Group in Washington DC. She has been designing and delivering virtual training programs for global audiences for over nine years. She is a winner of a 2010 Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Silver award for the project, “Connecting Talent Champions Online to Build Global Talent at IFC.” Darlene produces elearning products for synchronous and asynchronous environments and is a skilled facilitator for both live web events and threaded discussion boards. She also has a diverse technology background holding web product management positions in Silicon Valley at Infoseek, Disney Internet Group and 3Com. Darlene holds a Master’s degree in International Management from the Monterey Institute of International Studies as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of California, Davis.
She is on the board for the Metro DC Chapter of ASTD as the Director of Virtual Programs. Darlene contributes to ASTD at the national level as well: she was the speaker coach for the 2010 ICE Virtual Conference and will be the facilitator for the 2011 TechKnowledge Virtual Conference.
Darlene is a regular speaker at ASTD national events and various ASTD chapter events. She has authored numerous articles about virtual classrooms and is a contributing author to Road Tested, edited by Elaine Biech.
